ASAP Species Conservation

If you are involved in ex-situ conservation, which of the following activities do you support *

As per the ASAP Partner Guiding Principles, captive breeding facilities, rescue & rehabilitation centres or sanctuaries, with the primary concern of conservation are eligible to become Partners. If the primary purpose is for animal welfare, then its Partnership application will not be approved unless it also proactively and substantially contributes to species conservation.

Applying organisations should be able to demonstrate how its activities, including any release plans and operations, are guided by a genuine conservation need and should follow the IUCN guidelines for the management of confiscated, live organisms and the IUCN guidelines for reintroductions and other conservation translocations.
